Eccleston won the toss and elected to bat and their first pairing showed why. After 4 overs the score stood at 227. In the 5th over, Anuk stepped up to make it 2 wickets in 2 games as he hit middle stump. More wickets came as first Robert (1 wicket), then Aurelia (2 wickets) bowled Eccleston leaving the score at 218/4 at the midpoint of the innings.
Left hander, Ethan came on in the 10th over and made a perfect catch from his own ball and took his second wicket in the final over. Dale could possibly have had another wicket if they had appealed the caught behind in the 13th over. As it was they were left to chase 249.
The second innings saw Dale struggle scoring just 10 from the first pair. It got even harder when James was caught in the 5th over and Niamh was bowled in the 8th leaving Dale on just 212. Things picked up with the 3rd pair of Anuk and Robert leaving Dale on 227 with 4 overs left. Ethan and Isaac came in knowing they needed 23 runs to win. The pair did not disappoint with Ethan hitting 2 fours and reducing the chase to 13 to win. 2 more tight overs followed with the pair leaving Dale on 242 with 6 balls left.
Isaac ran a great single to put Ethan on strike. This was followed by a no ball, a wide and a 4. Dale needed 1 from 4 balls to win. Ethan hit the single before Isaac saw out the game with 3 dots and a wide to give Dale a victory by just 2 runs.
